The new BMW 3 series is an excellent car with a lot to offer. However, it could be better. It’s expensive, and it’s not particularly fuel-efficient. But if you’re looking for a luxury car, the new three series is a great option.

What’s the New BMW 3 series mpg,330 e mpg

The 3 Series from BMW comes with three powertrains to choose from. All models come standard with rear-wheel drive, with xDrive AWD available as an upgrade for an additional $2,000. All models also come equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The base model 330i comes with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine rated at 255 hp and 294 lb-ft of torque. The top-spec 3 is the M340i, which uses BMW’s 3.0-liter “B58” turbocharged inline-six engine that delivers 382 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque.

This model also features a new 48-volt mild-hybrid system that sharpens its responses and boosts fuel economy.

The middle-grade version of the 330e is a plug-in hybrid with a total system capacity of 288 hp and 310 lb-ft. The 330e might be the ideal compromise between the 330i and M340i because of its performance, frugality, and price.

The EV torque is backed by a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, making it rare and thrilling for hybrid powertrains. On the 330e, the turbo four-cylinder revs sweetly, so any sports car enthusiast looking at a BMW won’t feel like they’re giving up too much with this model.

All 3 Series models offer superb, engaging handling thanks to their stiffer chassis (as much as 50% more rigid than the previous generation), which allows for better suspension tuning. This results in excellent steering and intuitive cornering – exactly what drivers expect and appreciate from this series.

Even though the EPA says the combined fuel economy of the 330e is worse than that of the 330i, this difference is likely due to the 450-pound heft of its battery pack.

The 330i gets 26 cities and 36 highway mpg (30 combined), while the xDrive model gets 25 cities and 34 highway mpg and 28 combined.

However, you can also operate the 330e as a hybrid, with a calculated 75 MPGe for the rear-wheel model and 67 MPGe for the xDrive, and each 330e can be driven in electric-only mode as well, f respectively 23 and 20 miles.

This means if you’re mostly going to drive on the Interstate, the 330i makes sense, but if your daily routine lets you drive the 330e in mostly EV mode, you’d save a boatload on gas. Plus, all 3 Series models only drink premium gas – so keep that in mind when making your decision!

2022 BMW 3 series mpg Safety & Performace

The 3 Series from BMW was given five stars in every category by the NHTSA. Additionally, it was named an IIHS Top Safety Pick (one level below the Top Safety Pick Plus). However, even though some advanced safety features come standard with the 3 Series, BMW is more stingy with these features compared to other models.

For example, standard safety features are forward collision warnings and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection. If you want features like blind spot detection, lane departure warnings, and active driving assistance (which provides specific alerts), you’ll have to pay an additional $700 for the Driving Assistance Package.

If you’re looking for a spacious car, know that German compact sports sedans are about something other than that. The 3 Series is just a little behind the Audi A4 or the Mercedes-Benz C-Class in legroom and headroom, so it’s still a comfortable option.

The 3 Series seats are comfortable but firm – ideal for making the driver feel like they’re in a cockpit rather than a lounge. BMW charges an extra $1,600 for front heated and cooled seats with lumbar support, but this is worth the investment, given how hot it can get during testing periods. These seats are already comfortable, but being cooled made a noticeable difference.

What can we expect from infotainment?

The 330i comes with an 8.8-inch infotainment screen, but you can upgrade to a 10.3-inch unit which is standard on the higher trims. Both options run BMW’s familiar iDrive infotainment setup. If you’ve used past iDrive systems, it will be easy to master; however, new users may find it takes a while to learn all its features.

There is a round input bracketed by buttons in the center of the armrest/cupholder divider between the passenger and driver; however, with iDrive 7, you can touch, tap, and swipe right on the touchscreen.

The speedometer and tachometer can be moved to the display’s periphery, allowing the driver to have a better view of navigation instructions, for example. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are both free and available in BMW vehicles. Apple Maps’ live turn-by-turn guidance is displayed in the cluster in front of the driver. The automaker also includes a USB-C port and a 12V port.

Our Verdict

The BMW 330e is a great car. It’s comfortable, efficient, and stylish. However, its fuel economy could have been better. The first thing to note is that the BMW 330e is a hybrid. It has two power sources – an electric motor and a gas engine. The electric motor is powered by a battery, which helps the gas engine be more efficient. The battery can be charged by plugging the car into an outlet.

Our Verdict

The second thing to note is that the BMW 330e has a smaller gas tank than a regular BMW 3 Series. This is because the electric motor takes up some space that would typically be used for gas.

So, how does the BMW 330e stack up in fuel economy? In our testing, we found that the car gets about 29 miles per gallon (MPG) in city driving and 36 MPG on the highway. These numbers are lower than we had hoped, but they’re right. The BMW 330e is a great car, but its fuel economy could be better. Consider a different model if you’re looking for a hybrid with excellent gas mileage.

In addition to its excellent fuel economy and cargo space, the BMW 330e offers several other benefits. For instance, it has a powerful engine that provides good acceleration. Additionally, the vehicle is very well-built and has a luxurious interior. Finally, it has several high-tech features that make it a delightful car.

The BMW 330e is an excellent vehicle with a great driving experience, good fuel economy, and plenty of space for cargo. If you are in the market for a new car, the 330e should be at the top of your list.
